Startup problems
by: Support

Hello Neil,

Is the computer actually failing to start or you get the message that it failed to start?

Check your event logs to see if there is an entry for the failure to start.

It could be a service or a driver that is issueing the 'failure to start' message.

Hope this helps ...

Computer restarts after "Startup Repair" fails
by: Support

Hello Neil,

Have you tried to start the computer OS (Operating System) in safe mode?

Press F6 as the starup splash screen appears should get you in to the menu, then select "Safe Mode".

Once in Safe Mode do a check disk on the C: drive though the drive properties.

Vista and Windows 7 have so much going on at startup that it is hard to tell what is causing the problem.

When you are in Safe Mode check the Event Viewer for an error about the repair failure.

Another option would be to use the "Repair" feature of the install CD.

Hope this helps ...

Hello Neil,

Using the Systems Management Console is on this web site here:

System Manager Tips

Look in the System logs for any hardware or Operating System errors.

The last two versions of my book the Systems Manager was removed.
