white LCD screen

First off it's an IBM Thinkpad T20 type 2647-86u, external monitor works good with no lines etc. LCD on laptop only gives white screen and nothing else, i've replaced the inverter, lcd & i'm in the process of taking apart the laptop to see if there are any other connection problems, but none found. Any advice would sure be helpful. This is the only laptop i've come across that has had this problem. thanks in advance!
