Jan 31, 2009 Rating Installation Failure by: Support "System Preparation Tool 2.0" is a tool that manufactures and businesses use to install the Operating System and Programs for a special enviornment. That is a business will take a new computer and install the Operating System and all the programs that the employee will use everyday. Then they use a tool by Microsoft called sysprep to make an image to 'deploy' to all the same make and model of computers through out the business. What has happened is your computer was destined for a busness but some how you recived it instead. Best Buy should know this and either re-install the operating system for you or give you another computer. You need to do a either demand the 'Geek Squad' either reinstall the Operating System without the System Preperation Tool or give you another computer that was not previously owned by someone else. Instead of talking to the 'Geek Squad' maybe you should talk to the Store Manager where you bought it. How long have you had the computer? Hope this helps you get your computer running right!
