My sound from my computer is low. I have the setting on high but the sound is low. I have installed new external speakers. Do I have a sound card issue or what?

Sound Volum low
by: Support

Hello Kirk,

If your computer sound card has the power to drive the speakers then the only thing I can think of that would cause low volume would be in the advanced settings for the Volume Control.

Look at the 'Wave' volume, I set mine for Max and then control the over all volume with the Volume Control.

On the other hand if your sound device doesn't have the power (amplifier) to drive the speakers you may have to upgrade the sound card.

Match the maximum watts per channel on the sound card to the speakers.

That is if you have a 50 watt per channel sound card amplifier then the max wattage that each speaker will recieve is 50 watts, if on the other hand the speakers max wattage is say 200 watts then the sound card amplifier can't drive the speakers to higher volumes.

Thus low volume from the speaker no matter what you do...

Hope this helps...

Thanks for your help! I adjusted the wave setting like you said to the maximum setting and my computer sounds like a hi-fi stereo. Thanks again
