Socket 775 with bent pins
by Philip
(Brisbane)
I just tried to fit a new Main Board and it did not work When I started disconnecting parts to find what was wrong The item was in the last item to be removed I found that once I removed the CPU and used a magnifying glass and found that when I put in the CPU it was not in the finished correct position ans subsequently the spring loaded points of the socket 775 I believe that I must have moved the CPU when it was in the socket and must have moved the pins They only need to move micro movements and it will not be alined correctly I now see with the glass that the spring loaded pins are a little out of position Now I need to know if this can be repaired If it can not then the brand new main board is a chuck away to the bin please advise me what I can do and if there is a person that can repair the board Regards Philip
