Feb 03, 2009 Rating SATA Drivers by: Support If the drive was operating fine then you formated it to reinstall the Operating System chances are that the drivers for the drive were deleted. Try this, in BIOS the drive is reconized, check to see if the drive is listed under the start devices, on some BIOS interfaces it is listed as BOOT or Startup Drives. It should be the second drive, you will want your CD/DVD to be frist so that it will start with your install cd. If you still can't get the Windows install to see the drive then you will need to get the drivers from the SATA Drive manufacture if you didn't recieve them with the drive, this is normal for a propriatary computer, to not get the drivers. You will need to put the drivers on a floppy, if your system does not have a floppy then you will have to use a flash/pen drive, when you put them on the floppy or flash/pen drive I suggest you put them at the root of the media, that is don't make a directory. When the install starts - you have to be fast and watch for it - a line will appear at the bottom of the startup screen - 'Press F6 if your system requires additional drives for SCSI or other devices.' Press F6 and then you will get a promtp for where the drivers are located. This should allow the install to continue. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions.
