router problem

Today I went from cable internet to dsl and when I connect my wireless-g linksys router I can't connect to the internet.

But if I just connect the modem direct to my computer its fine, what is it that I'm doing wrong?

Question:

Are you trying to set up the router through wireless or wired?

If you are trying to set the router up wireless first it may not be able to connect to the router, you have to use the cd that came with the router and I would suggest you use the Cat5e or Cat6 wire to connect to the router to do your set up.

Also the link speed and duplex of the new router has to be set for 100MBPS Full Duplex (do that under My Network Places/Properties then go to the Properties of the network card, you will find it under the Advanced settings for the card.
