i would like to add a usb 2 to older motherbourd
so i can utilize readyboost or eboost i hae no more room for added internal memory i know you would probly say buy a new one but theres nothing wrong with this one its just a little slow what would you recommend take your time and think about it before you answer

Upgrade to USB 2

Hello Matt,

If you have an open slot in the computer you can buy USB 2 port cards.

They only cost $10-$30 depending on how many ports you get. For a laptop you can get a PCMCIA card but they cost upwards of $75, I have one in my laptop, how ever it doesn't see my WiFi USB connector.

I have a couple that add four ports to the front of the computer in a in a drive slot and two in the rear of the computer.

If you do a search for 'USB add on card' or 'USB PCI add on card' you should find a lot of them, or you could go to your local electronics store and get one.

If you didn't know it there is a new USB specificaton coming out in the next three to six months USB 3, the speed is supposed to be greatly enhanced. I have read about it but haven't seen where anyone is producing any products for it.
