Repair HP DC5750 BIOS

by Andre
(Minneapolis, MN (US))

Hi,
I purchased an HP MOBO on eBay with note: "Not Working" because they did NOT have the RIGHT equipment (?) to test it.

So all I had was the AM2 Athlon XII processor and some DDR2 memory.

The MB came without back plate and my heat sink did NOT match.

So I've got an original, wide heat sink and the HP case for the MB starting pins. Comes up that the seller DID mess-up the BIOS update probably aborting it.

The result is that my "computer" is blinking red light and beeps nine times with no screen or any other boot messages.

I would like to find out if there is a way of repairing this MB BIOS and salvaging my investment.

Will be very grateful for your feed back.

Thank you
=Andre=

PS. I've tried different PS and RAMs and the MB beeps the same even without the memory.

Flashing the BIOS on a motherboard
by: Support

Hello Andre,

As far as I know the only way to flash a BIOS on a non operational motherboard is with an attachemnt that touches all the pins of the BIOS chip.

The bad news is that they are expensive and the only one I have ever seen was at the Intel factory here in Arizona.

You might want to contact the motherboard manufacture and see what they would charge to flash the BIOS for you.

If it is less than $25 plus shipping then it may be worth the cost but anything more and you could buy another motherboard.

Sure hope this helps ...
