PC is stuck in re-boot cycle.

by Gordon

My Compaq desktop Presario SR1750 goes into a boot cycle. The Geek Squad at BB said they only read a blue screen. I must retrieve the files and photos on this PC.

Can I do this using a HD enclosure?

Operating System will not start
by: Support

Hello Gordon,

I have fixed a couple of these types of problmes.

One was a driver update that caused the startup loop.

Another was a virus.

Then there was the corrupt drive.

See this page for help with the problem:

Build a BartPE disk

I would suggest you get or make a bootable CD, BartPE would work for pulling the files from the hard drive in the computer.

If you have another computer you could make the external drive bootable, how ever you will have to take the hard drive out of the enclosure, this will void the waranty if it still has one, see this page about making a bootable external hard drive:

Making an External Hard drive bootable

Hope this helps...
