Hello,

My hard drive in my HP dv71261wm completely fried do to a fall and had iminant failure.

So I bought a new intel x-25 80gb ssd, and also recieved the recovery disks from HP.

The disk formats the hard drive then goes through full download.

Then as the windows home screen comes up after a few hours of loading.

I get error that windows did not load. But I can hit ctl alt del and open my task manager and look at my computer and is showing the windows download and can actually get online.

But stays black with error, click on the error and it is restarting and coming back black screen with error windows was not installed completely try again.

Have done this many times no luck.

error check/c:/system.sav/logs/burnboot warn.log.

How can i get windows to actually work?

Thank you sooo much if can help!

Hi Monte & Dustin.
Check BIOS & make sure it is not set for AHCI the drive should be set for IDE .It could be run using AHCI but it sounds as though this would be to much trouble for you to do. So stick to IDE and reinstall your O/S remember to start from the beginning by formatting the drive.Hope this helps
Regards Joe

Already tried that, the BIOS in the laptop doesn't allow for changeing the drive properties.
