Old Mini Tower Rebuild; Cable Connections To Mimi (7inchx7inch) Motherboard Phase 4
by Kermit
(El Paso, Texas, USA)
Hello,
Here we are again, as I reported in phase 3 I got the tower all together with all the insides checked and rechecked the conections, hooked up all the perfials turned on the monitor and hit start button and nada, nothing. About 11pm last night I decided to pull the power supply and try it in the other defunct tower knowing tha it at lease turns on but doesnt work to test the power supply. Well it worked in that tower; so I put it back in the fully rebuilt tower reconnected all devices. with the cover off for some reason I decided to plug in the power cord and turn on the switch in the back, tapped the power on switch and blue leds came to life and turned it off put the cover on; and connected the monitor keyboard /mouse to PS/2 ports tapped that power on button.
It is 0547 hours in the morning and your are reading this report being compiled on the frist rebuild I have ever done. Have been up all night. All drivers installed from mother board disk Windowes XP Home Edition and all the latest microsoft upgrades from the net.
Neat program that came in th drivers package called MY Guard; it monitors the computer right now th cpu temp is 37 degrees C and system is 26 degrees C.
Still have to finish partioning the HD and optmize the system.
Mouse does not work in PS/2 port don't know why had to put it in a USB port. Nor on 2 other computers I own.
Hope everyone who reads the progresss of this rebuild will take heart and do-it-yourself at D-I-Y Computer Repair.com.
Monte, thanks a million.
Kermit
