numlck is off at start up

Keyboard problem/irritation:

My number lock key has automatically "engaged" when starting up my computer until last week. Now I sign on with my alphanumeric password and of course it is wrong because the number lock is off.

How can I fix this?

Engaging numlock at startup

Hello Linda,

For most most computers the numlok key default is on and it is a setting in the BIOS.

To get in the BIOS settings you will need the keypress that either comes up on the screen when you first power up your computer, see the user's manual, or the manufactures web site.

Most use the F1, F2, del, or a combination of alt+del.

Once in the BIOS look on the first page, you will see Keyboard Settings, select that, then the numlock default you want at power up.
