Press anykey....
by: Support

Hello Jeremy,

When you put the XP CD in your drive and start the computer do you see the message -

"Press any key to boot from CD..."

If not then the CD drive is either not a bootable device or it is not turned on in the BIOS to be bootable.

Basicly what has happened is your hard drive has either fialed or become corrupt.

A) Does the hard drive make any strange nosies when you start the computer? Did the computer start shutting down on it's own with out you doing anything? Hard drive may have failed.

B) Restarting the computer by powering it down with out going to shut down will cause this. Hard drive is corrupt

Check the BIOS settings to see if the CD/DVD Drive is in the boot menu, if it is then move it to the first postion for boot devices.

Hope this helps...
