USB Drive not found
by: Support

Hello Neil,

There are a few reasons a computer will not see a Pen/Flash drive when connected to a usb port:

1) The port is dead (Check each port with another device) this should not be an issue on two new computers.

2) The USB drivers are corrupt. (This could be an issue if both computer's OS was installed from the same media).

3) The USB drives are out of date. (If you haven't ran the MS update or the manufactures update try that first).

4) The Pen/Flash drive has a foreign format, such as a Mac OS was used to format the device.

Currently I have one system with Windows 7 on it, a new ASUS laptop and haven't had any problems with the six or so pen drives I have with different types of data.

I do know that an older ERD Commander loaded on a pen/flash drive will not start a Windows 7 computer with an i series processor, it will get to the splash screen and hang. (The Windows 7 computer is my Wife's and she doesn't let me mess with it...)

Hope this points you in the right direction for a solution.
