My laptop is under attack!

by Charles
(Waleska, Ga. U.S.A.)

I have an older Dell Laptop running XP. Inadvertantly I opened an e-mail that I should not have and through it a virus, worm or something has gotten onto my computer.

When I try to open, say, Internet Explorer, a message appears that states that there is something that may damage computer if I continue and that IE cannot (will not) open because of it.

Any ideas. If so, Is this something I can rid myself of or do I need to take the computer to a Repair Shop?

Hello Charles,

Do you have any anti virus/trojan/malware/spyware programs installed?

If so then I suggest you try to clean the computer by starting it in the Safe Mode.

If you don't have any AV programs you can find the better ones listed on this web page:

Information about Virus

Hope this helps ...
