Jan 19, 2009 Rating Laptop Mouse doesn't work by: Support Hi Danny, When the internal mouse (the mouse pad or the Joy stick type between the keys) could be different things. One thing could be a hardware failure, that is either the ribbon cable inside the laptop has become disconnected or has failed. Rarely does a mouse pad fail, how ever too much force on the joy stick between the keys will cause it to fail. Another thing that could have happened is it was turned off in the BIOS or in the Systems manager, chcek the Systems Manager/Devices first. Check that the driver is installed and if you can update the driver. If you are still having problems with it not fuctioning check the BIOS to see if has been turned off. If it hasn't been turned off and the drivers are up to date you have two choices: Fix the mouse or use an external mouse.
