Memory Slot lock broken
by: Support

Hello Tracy,

It depends on what part of the lock is broken.

If it is the part that rotates to lock and unlock the memory module it can be replaced, the locking tab. If you have another locking tab of the same make, different motherboard manufactures use different vendors for parts so make sure they are the same size in length and the little tab that goes in the slot of the memory module are the same length other wise it will not lock properly and may damage the memory module.

If it is the side support for the locking tab I don't think it can be guled back together even with super glue. The plastic is the wrong type for super glue.

To replace the locking tab you can spread the support 'legs' appart with a small screw driver and pull the broken one out, then push the new one in. Don't use too much force or you may break off the support.

Hope this helps...
