Laptop locks up
by: Support

Hello Richard,

Before the computer started locking up did you add any programs? Change any hardware?

If you changed hardware then put the old hardware back, the new hardware may not be compatitable with your computer.

If you added a program and the program is causing the computer to lock up and you can not get in to Safe Mode to remove the program the only suggestions I can make is to find a copy of ERD Commander version 2005 or reload the computer Operating System.

With ERD you can uninstall programs.

You can try this - power the computer down, remove the AC adapeter, pull the battery out.

Then open the panel where the memory modles are and then remove them, then put them back in.

One of the memory modules may have become dislodged.

Once you have done the memory modules, leave the battery out and use AC to power the computer up.

If it starts the power it down, remove the AC then put the battery back in, see if it will start on battery power only.

If it starts then the memory was the problem. If it doesn't start then your battery is the problem.

Hope this helps...
