Laptop battery life

I just purchased a new battery for my laptop. I normally use the AC plug and rarely use just the battery. When not in use, should the battery be stored out of the laptop charged or discharged? Which is the best way to save the battery for future use? I would appreciate some help with this.

Hello Lynda,

If the battery has not been charged then store it until you need to charge it for use.

If it is charged then you should use the computer with out AC until the battery is discharged then store it.
