I broke my hardrive connector on my vaio laptop
by Kim
(San Diego ca)
I was trying to connect a new hard drive to my vaio vgn 579 and the connector from the motherboard (plastic piece) detached staying inside the connector piece and ribbon to the sata drive. leaving four to five metal contacts sticking straight up on the board. So it seemed like I could just slide the plastic piece carefully in the sleeve. however my eyesight failed and i broke one of the sleeves. My question is. Is there a way I can solder the point back. Or should I just use a external hard drive for my primary. and How do i do so. please forgive my descriptions. I'm am in training thanx to your sight. Thank you in advance...
