forgotten password

okay so my brother was trying to be nice and since i needed a computer for work he decides to give me his old computer that he hasnt used in three years. its old but i need it. so i hook the computer up and i get to the start up screen and it asks for a password. so after a week of me harrassing him he calls me back with a list of possible passwords and not one of them on the list is correct. so now what do i do. im not sure if there is a way to bypass that password.

help please!!!

Hello Monica,

There are two possibilities -

You can try Administrator and no password (You could try all the passwords he gave you on the Administrator's account if the no password doesn't work).

Or

If you can find ERD Commander there is a tool on it that will change a password on any account except the Administrator.

The only other option I will give you is to reload the Operating System.
