Drive space to install a Service Pack

Hello,

I just ran the recovery discs on my laptop and now it the Windows Service Pack 1 is missing. Have got service pack 2 to
install but now don't have enough space to accomodate it.

How do I create space to download this service pack 2 from a cd?

Hello Mdu,

What is the size of the drive/partition that the recovery cd made?

With a fresh install or in your case a recovery there isn't enough useless stuff to delete to get to 500 meg (that is the required open space for the service pack and the backup files it will create) of open space to do the installation.

Is there any other open space on the hard drive?

If the drive is physically full and there isn't any open space to create another partition then it maybe time to upgrade to a larger drive.

With out more specifics I can't give you any advice.
