Copy Cable doesn't work with SPk III

by Michael
(Morganton, NC, USA)

Greetings, I purchased a USB 2.0 driverless computer copy cable (DirectLink). It worked great until I installed Windows Service Pack III on my PC. Now I can't get it to work. How can I get it to work? If I need to purchase another one, how will I know it is compatible with Service Pack III?

The ethernet crossover cable looks complicated - if I purchased one, could I get step by step instructions that take a novice computer user through each menu/step to get it to work?

In advance, thanks for your help! Michael

Crossover Cable or DirectLink?
by: Support

Hello Michael,

I went to the manufacuters web site of DirectLink, here is the page -

http://www.expnet.com/know.nsf/0/d1e0d99b9e3a5b9a85256b9d0062c381?OpenDocument

It says if the cable doesn't connecd then to disconnect and reconnect the cable, I would suspect they are takling about using the Remove Hardware Icon in the taskbar tray. It may be better to contact their Tech Support and talk to them, after all you paid for their product.

You could use a Cat5e cross over cable the insrtuctions on setting it up are here -

Crossover cable connection to transfer files.

Hope this helps...
