I have tested some applications that I use
on a daily basis and some games I like to play to relax. My testing leads me to
believe any application or game that was written in the last four years (post
Vista) will not
have any problems with Windows 7.
Would you take my

Now those that have special drivers for such things as printers or fax
machines may not run. My HP 3-in-One is of this variety. I did check with HP but
no drivers available at this time (Vista drivers would load but not work), maybe by the time Windows 7 is a retail
product. That is one of the reasons I say you should do a Dual Boot
if you can.
So here is the list of Applications Tested with Windows 7 and Games that did not have any problems
-
Applications-
- Microsoft Office 2003
- Macromedia Fireworks
- RSS Reader
- AVG 11
- Trojan Remover
- ASUS AI Suite (ASUS Motherboard utilities)
- Dame Ware NT Utilities (PC Remote control)
- Mr. Captor 3.50
- Screen Virtuoso PRO
- ACDSee Photo Manager
- pdf995
- VistaBootPRO
- VMware Workstation
- Explorer ++
- DAEMON Tools Lite (this is the only program I use daily that came up with
a compatibility problem which went away after the third restart).
- Virtual PC 2007
- CSMenu
Games
- Frontlines-Fuel of War
- Call of Duty 4
As time goes on this list will grow as I use Applications Tested with Windows
7.These three
programs will not run on Windows 7 -
- Roxio 7 (because the drivers are over five years old).
- WinAmp 3.5 (because the drivers are over six years old!)
- Far Stone Virtual Drive ver 9.
Upgrading to newer versions of these programs will allow you to use them with
Windows 7, I am still using XP as my primary OS so have not spent the money for
upgraded versions of these programs as of yet.
