A large block of application files on my hard drive will not defragment

by Kevin
(Atascadero, CA, USA)

A block of files 3.4GB in size located in C:\documents & Settings\All Users\Application Data can not be defragmented using the Windows XP Defragmenter, and many of my applications are not running properly or not running at all. This problem occured after several failed attempts to install Norton 360, which was uninstalled and reinstalled. Is there a way to repair this sector of my hard drive and restore the full use of the applications?

thanks,
Kevin

Norton install
by: Support

Hello Kevin,

I think the install and uninstall of Norton 360 is what has caused your problmes.

You can try to do the defrag in 'Safe Mode' but I don't think that will make the programs operational.

You may have to uninstall and reinstall those programs.

Also I would find a different Anti-Virus program.

I have seen a lot of problems caused by Nortor lately.

Hope this helps...
