Special Fix IT Newsletter Alert

Issue 0007-d
Hello
HOT Info!
Are you a Windows XP owner? Good news is that
Microsoft has extended support of XP to 2014, what this means to the individual
owner of XP that you will continue to receive updates, service packs for
hardware, software, and security vulnerabilities until 2014. Others think there
will not be a Service Pack 4, I am of the opinion that there will be a SP 4, my
experience over the years leads me to believe this, Windows NT had five service
packs, it was also sixteen years old when it was retired.
You can read more about the decision to keep XP
support past next year here:
Windows XP life extended.
The main reason I believe Microsoft is extending support for XP is that Vista
is such a failure in the memory and device support area that Microsoft had to do
something to over come the bad publicity of Vista.
On the AGV front, I downloaded the latest version of AGV and it still fails
to install on XP with SP 3. I think part of the problem is Grisoft is trying to
make it compatible with XP and Vista at the same time. I didn't find any
information on Girsoft's web site about the problem, buy I think they are working on
it the file name is different for the free version.
Thank you for all that replied to my small survey.
