Mid summer and not much happening on the computer
front. I have added one page to the web site this month because I am working on
a new project. I am building out the web site. My dilemma is this will be a pay
for service and I need to find a way to present it. I haven't decided if I
should set it up as an E-Course or a Private Membership area. Either way it will
expand on what I have on the web site by about 200 pages or if it is an E-course
be about six months long with the recipient receiving a section every two or
three days.
So I have setup a page that I am using as a poll for my readers, if you would
like to participate in helping me make my decision on if I should run a member
ship site or should turn this in to a paid E-course please stop by the page and
have a look. The way I am going to do the poll is take the number of sign ups
interested in the Membership site and divide it by the number of readers of this
newsletter and see what the percentage is. If you show interest in the Membership
site I promise all sign ups will only receive updates for the membership site! DIY

Because I will be going to North Carolina next week to visit my oldest Son
and his Wife for a week or so I decided to get one of those Watch TV on your
computer programs. You know what type of tv is on in airports. My laptop is fast
enough and with the Wi-Fi that all airports have for free now the Misses and I
could watch something besides the airport fare. I was particularly interested in
having the NASA channel and the Misses would like the BBC channel from London.
So I bought the one in the article above. I am not very happy with the sales
pitch, the actual program, or their tech and customer support and say so.
I wanted to write an article about Vista vs Windows 7 so I did one and tried
to get it accepted at one of the article directories I use for my articles. The
article directory says that I wrote a 'negative review' and they do not accept
negative reviews. So the article is a pdf on my web site. It is called Is
this Vista. Have a read. Any feed back you may have would be appreciated.
(negative feed back is always good, tells a guy where he went the wrong way).
Other news:
Widows 7 Operating System has been released for manufacture. The upgrade path
has not been published by Microsoft as of yet, there are rumors but nothing
solid. The new Operating System (OS) will be in stores for sale on 22 October,
2009.
My Word -Forums, anyone visit them on a regular basis? I frequent
three because the posters there are using the latest and greatest in hardware
and software. Like on my web site I ask and answer questions. There is always
one or two know it all's that like to take your question or answer and twist it
around to make you look like a fool. Baiting you to reply, in the old days we
called these fools 'trolls'. Trolling the forums for someone to make a fool out
of. The trick is to take what they said and make them look like the fool they
are. [sigh] Makes it uncomfortable to go back and post any more. But I will
because I have questions and answers to help people.
Here is a saying from the old days if you frequent forums on a regular
basis - 'Don't feed the TROLLS!' that is don't answer back to them just keep on
with your topic as if they don't exist.
